Roastbeef's Promise by David Jerome

Product Description
When Jim Roastbeef Hume embarks on a quest to sprinkle his father's ashes in each of the forty-eight contiguous states, he has no idea that a series of bizarre and ridiculous adventures await. But nothing will deter him from fulfilling the promise he made to his dying father--not a brief incarceration in Iowa or a punctured lung in South Dakota. As he travels across the country, he picks up numerous new friends, presides over the ultimate party, poses as a lesbian s boyfriend, and gives away a very pregnant bride in a Las Vegas wedding. And who could have dreamed that somewhere amidst the craziness of dropping ashes from a crop duster and finding Elvis's toenail, Roastbeef would stumble upon a lucrative new career?

My thoughts
To honor his father’s wish, 21 year old Jim “Roastbeef” Hume takes a road trip to spread his father’s ashes in each of the 48 contingent states is what “Roastbeef’s Promise” by David Jerome is about. But the situations that Roastbeef experiences, the people he encounters and things he must do to honor his promise is hilarious. Jerome writes an amusing, yet endearing story about being on the road in this crazy country of ours. I loved this book. It made me want to go out and take a road trip, sans ashes and experience life!

We ran into a guy once whose goal was to play 50 golf courses in 50 states in a year. People who do those sorts of trips probably have lots of good stories! Thanks for pointing out this book!
